A Christmas to remember ✨️🎀🤍💒🎁

HIII. Okay, Christmas in Mexico is one to remember. I'll start off by saying that on Christmas night, we tried to do something good for Enrique, and it ended up being the scariest thing that happened in my mission so far. I'll spare you guys the details, but let's just say he's in the cartel and had some other intentions for meeting with us.

ANYWAYS

Christmas here is celebrated on the 24th so that night we spent with the Fraijos and then Melissa's family and I don't think I'm properly expressing how close I am with Melissa and her whole family. They were literally planning my and their son's (Melissa's cousins) wedding at Christmas Eve dinner. They kept trying to get us to flirt and I was so awkward and laughing the whole time. Okay, jk I'm not even awkward but I knew that wasn't appropriate for me as a missionary so my natural reaction was just to laugh. Anyway, this was just the best night, and promise they will all be at my wedding one day, just not to their son HAHAH SORRY. Also, swear I ate raw chicken like 3 times this week. Why is that a traditional meal here for Christmas?????

Christmas was honestly so good though. I had put a lot of pressure on it this year because I really wanted it to be special with a certain family but found it to be special in a different way. we ended up just running throughout the streets giving Christmas presents to little kids everywhere. We gave away so many presents, I even gave away my favorite perfume like who am I?? We honestly realized it just didn't matter where we were because no matter what house or family, they were all in need of some presents and love. I learned a valuable lesson that day; God knows our hearts and our intentions. And he knows we aren't perfect and can't do everything right. We just have to do our best and he makes up the difference.

Another miracle:

We've been praying to find someone ready for baptism and God answered our prayers this week and sent us Franando. Or maybe, we were sent to him. Literally could cry just thinking about him and how ready his soul is. He was a reference from FB and we invited him to church this Sunday. He came and the first thing he said to us was "Tengo Asperger". He is so smart though and speaks English (kinda) slay! He sat through sacrament and then said he wanted to know who Jesus was. So for the second hour, we went to a different room to teach him. He began by telling us he had a vision/dream the other night of the second coming (he didn't understand it was the second coming) and he saw a person descending from heaven that gave him peace. We showed him the famous picture of Jesus Christ in red and said is this who you saw and he could hardly get his words together from crying saying yes that is who I saw, tell me all about him.

We then taught him basically all the lessons and showed the video of Christ's baptism and with no hesitation and tears streaming down his face said "This is so beautiful I want this" and is now preparing to be baptized this Sunday. His only request was that we could take a video for his mom so she could watch it (his mom abandoned him when he was young). Fernando has had a hard life with bullying, suicide attempts, and struggling to understand his purpose and said that he already feels his savior's love and the peace of the gospel. I promise God knows each of us personally and we have such a divine role in this life!!! God is aware of us and loves us!! Everyone, please keep Franando in your prayers this week!!

Lots of love,

Hermana Steuer
